This section presents an overview of the youngest generation of Sicilian designers.
These designers, who share the same origin and the same interest in the world, work all around Italy and Europe, dealing with social, interaction, visual and fashion design.
It’s a generation experiencing a phenomenon occurring for years, that is to say globalization, with the abolishment of frontiers and the shortening of distances: such a condition leads to the exploration of new destinations, to the comparison with other realities in order to enhance one’s cultural knowledge, experiences and insights.
For all those who have left and live elsewhere, the comparison is direct; for those who leave and then come back, the web net allows to keep in touch easily, to work remotely with other people, to be always up-to-date, thus activating a virtuous circle that fosters the creation of a network of intelligences and professionals.
Culture of the project, contemporary languages and sensitivity towards beauty, always of great importance in Sicily: these are some of the qualities that characterise the projects of these young designers. The different working conditions of each of them, not only connected to the geographical context of Sicily, represent a sort of guarantee that keeps them far from any possible expression of regressive regionalism.
Instead, what emerges from their projects is often the wish to release their own home countries.
The young designers represent, along with the artists, the most surprising driving force for the cultural transformation of the territories. A cultural transformation that, without any imposition, can encourage the development of a consciousness, of a mental ecology based on the “being”, to be carried out in order to restore the balance between our individual and collective needs and the natural roof of our planet.
The new generation of young designers, an important human resource, represents the promise of a better future.

Questa sezione presenta una panoramica della più giovane generazione di designer siciliani.
Questi progettisti, accomunati dalla medesima origine e da uno sguardo rivolto verso il mondo, operano oggi in varie parti d‘Italia e d’Europa, occupandosi di social, interaction, visual e fashion design.
Si tratta di una generazione che si trova a vivere appieno un fenomeno in atto da anni ovvero la globalizzazione, con l’abbattimento delle frontiere e l’accorciamento delle distante: condizione che spinge a esplorare nuove mete, ad aprirsi al confronto con altre realtà per arricchire il proprio bagaglio di cultura, esperienze e visioni.
Per quelli che sono partiti e vivono altrove, il confronto è diretto; per chi parte e poi torna, la rete web permette di mantenere i contatti con facilità, di lavorare a distanza con altre persone, di rimanere sempre aggiornati, attivando un circolo virtuoso che favorisce la creazione di un network di menti e di professionalità.
Cultura del progetto, linguaggi contemporanei e una sensibilità per il bello che in Sicilia ha avuto una lunga storia sono alcune delle qualità che contraddistinguono i progetti di questi giovani. La diversa condizione operativa di ciascuno di loro, non più solamente legata al contesto geografico siciliano, è una sorta di garanzia che li tiene lontani da possibili espressioni di un regionalismo regressivo. Invece emerge spesso dai loro progetti la voglia di riscattare i propri luoghi di origine.
I giovani designer rappresentano, insieme agli artisti, la più sorprendente forza motrice per la trasformazione culturale dei territori. Una trasformazione culturale che, senza imposizioni, può stimolare lo sviluppo di una coscienza, di un’ecologia della mente basata sull’essere, da mettere in atto per poter restaurare l’equilibrio tra i nostri bisogni individuali, collettivi e il tetto naturale del nostro pianeta.
La nuova generazione di progettisti, importante capitale umano, rappresenta una promessa di futuro migliore.
